2017 Session 2: Hearing Forgiving

Substituting for Dr. Nunnally, Dr. Steve Pulis directs our attention to the way God engages our prayers. The scriptural narrative suggests that while God does hear and answer prayer, there are also times when He will ignore our prayers.

2016 Session 22: Witness

Substituting for Wave, Steve Pulis leads a discussion on the patterns of witnessing we see in the book of Acts. The initiating circumstance is often an unplanned event that required a response. That response should reflect the Holy Spirit working through us.

Acts 2:1-16, 41; Acts 3:1-16; Acts 6:8-14; Acts 7:1

2015 Session 26: The Fear of Me is Not In You

In today’s class, Dr. Steve Pulis picks up with the discussion on “backsliding” from last week’s session. “Grace was never an excuse to continue in sin; grace never lessoned the demands of a covenant. There are very few ‘unconditional’ in the Bible.”

2015 Session 14: The Suffering Servant

In today’s session, Dr. Steve Pulis focused on how God uses suffering to deepen our understanding, and that there’s a difference between suffering and pain … they aren’t the same. The God who utilizes suffering as an element of judgement, also using suffering to effect recovery.  “Perhaps one of the most haunting scripture in the New testament reveals an unexpected revelation of Christ: Though he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered (Hebrews 5:8).
