2014 Session 14: The Obedience of Faith

In today’s session, Dr. Nunnally opens with a postscript on recent archeological discoveries in Jerusalem. Though not formally announced yet., the Israel Archeological Authority’s Eli Shukron has discovered a cut stone from the time of Herod. What makes the discovery so interesting is how it syncs with the words of Christ in Matthew 21:24, Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes?’” Following a brief discussion of this discovery, the conversation turns to Romans 16:19, and an emphasis on the interconnection of faith with obedience. “Obedience to the Lord requires that we continue providing witness, until the His return.”

Romans 16:19; 1:5-8; 10:18;15:18-19; 16:26; Acts 2:5; 17:6; 28:22; Colossians 1:6; 1:22; Matthew 24:14.

2013 Session 36: Obedience – Faith

It’s an old subject, with roots that go all the way back to the earthly ministry of Christ. In today’s session, Dr. Nunnally reminds us that following Christ’s example — in obedience — is an absolute requirement. “If you love me, you’ll keep my commandments,” speaks to the point, directly.  Faith is vital, but so is obedience. “Why do you call me Lord and then don’t do as I say?”  Luke 6:46

Romans 15:18; Ephesians 3:7; Galatians 3:20; 2 Cor 12; Colossans 3:17; Romans 1:5; 16-19; Romans 16:19,26; Isaiah 9; Danial 7; Zacharia 9:9; Hebrews 11; Acts 6:7; James 2; Ephesians 2:8-10; Matthew 7:21; Luke 6:46; John 15:1,6
