2015 Session 17: Pursue Abomination— Achieve Abomination

In today’s session, Dr. Nunnally directs our attention to the validity of God’s plan for successful living. “If you pursue abomination, you will achieve abomination. I you pursue emptiness, you will be empty. If you pursue a reprobate lifestyle, you will be turned over to a reprobate mind. But if you pursue righteousness, you will reap abundant life. God’s commandments are good.”

2015 Session 16: We, the Anointed Ones

In today’s session Dr. Nunnally examines Jeremiah 2, which he describes as being similar to a court case where God serves as prosecutor. The defendant is Israel, God’s chosen people. “‘Did I do something to you?’ asks God. “You left me.'” The rhetorical form adopted in chapter 2 is that of a “revel,” a court case. Tracking scripture we see God reminding Israel of His bestowment of  blessings enjoyed by the nation, the unfaithfulness of Israel, failure of leadership and Israel’s miserable preference for other Gods. Having made His contentions,  God described the consequences: enslavement.
