2014 Session 18: Hand to the Plow

In today’s session, Dr. Nunnally updates the class on his recent teaching seminar in Israel. The remainder of the class includes a discussion of the connection between Luke 9:62 (“No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God), and Genesis 19:26. In the Genesis account, Lot’s wife looks back and is transformed into a pillar of salt.

2014 Session 15: Peter, Wisdom of the Years

Substituting for Wave Nunnally, Floyd Wray explores the words of 1 Peter. In terms of “birth order,” Peter was an older brother among Christ-followers. And yet, for all his seniority, Peter’s voice in scripture is often limited to attributions in the Gospels, and all-too-frequent examples of his impulsiveness or wrong-headed mistakes. When we read his writing, however, we get the sense that we’re hearing a voice speaking to us from a deep wisdom, and amazing insight into new life inChrist. Judging angels, the signs of the Lord’s soon appearing and fellowship with saints from all the ages were subjects of class discussion. 1 Peter Download Audio File
