2013 Session 23: God Honors His Word Above His Name

In this session, Dr. Nunnally continues with Romans 15. The discussion begins with the understanding that God’s expects us to “get along with each other.” Rather quickly, though, the discussion turns to some of the difficult social issues faced by the body of believers. A theme that has come up so many times, returns as a point of emphasis: how are we to judge without being judgmental? With the “norming” of homosexuality, Christians face a challenge when it comes to loving the sinner, but hating the sin.

2013 Session 22: Be Renewed In Your Mind

God doesn’t call on us to live like Jesus, in our own strength, God provides the power to “be like Christ.” Dr. Nunnally’s suggestion for how we should pray: “God cleanse me, use me, empower me to do what You want me to do.”

2013 Session 21: Standing Before the Lord

In this session we take up the stark reality that we will ALL stand before the Lord to account for our lives. While this is an uncomfortable prospect, an important distinction becomes immediately obvious. The believer has an important advantage in this time of judgement: in Jesus Christ we have an advocate with the Father.
